Unearthly

“So often we only do what we think is expected of us. When we are capable of so much more.”

Damn! Just one word that can describe this book : UNEXPECTED. I mean, seriously I thought it was about some lame angel story that fall in love with human and bla bla bla. And I wasn’t sure with the rating that people gave for this book. Some people just gave it 2 stars and the others gave it 5 stars so yeah I got a little bit confused there. For the first 20 pages of ebook I was like ‘yeah sure, so far so good’ but after 70 page or something I just can’t stop, it got me hooked.

So this book started with Clara Gardner a teenage angel-blood girl that got her purpose so she and her family moved to a town in Wyoming called Jackson. In her purpose she saw that she had to save a boy around her age from a forestfire. That boy she had to save is Christian Prescott, a super hot, charming, smart, and rich student from Jackson High. Clara tried to get to know him and maybe had a little crush for him. So yeah we thought that at the end of book people expect Clara to fall in love with Christian or something like that BUT TAADAA there’s a nother character named Tucker Avery, Wendy’s twin – Wendy is a new bestfriend of Clara. Tucker is charming but not in the same way with Christian. He’s a little wild, cowboy type, and in the begining he always teased Clara because she’s from California and because of her orange hair that looked like a carrot. At the end of the book there’s a BIG PLOT TWIST and I bet it’ll surprise you. So yeah if you like fantasy angel type of book I’m seriously recomend this book for you.

Jika kau mengira Eddie adalah laki-laki, well kau salah besar.

*shaking my head* Damn! those words are deep and I’m crying when I read those words. Berikut adalah puisi Schooled yang dibacakan oleh Lake

I got schooled this year.

By everyone.

By my little brother…

by The Avett Brothers…

by my mother, my best friend, my teacher, my father,

and

by

a

boy.

a boy that I’m seriously, deeply, madly, incredibly, and undeniably  in love with…

I got so schooled this year.

By a nine-year-old.

He taught me that it’s okay to live life

a little backwards.

And how to laugh

At what you would think

is un-laughable.

I got schooled this year

By a Band!

They taught me how to find that feeling of feeling again.

They taught me how to decide what to be

And go be it.

I got schooled this year.

By a cancer patient.

She taught me so much. She’s still teaching me so much.

She taught me to question.

To never regret.

She taught me to push my boundaries,

Because that’s what they’re there for.

She told me to find a balance between head and heart

And then

she taught me how…

I got schooled this year

By a Foster Kid

She taught me to respect the hand that I was dealt.

And to be grateful I was even dealt a hand.

She taught me that family

Doesn’t have to be blood.

Sometimes your family

are your friends.

I got schooled this year

By my teacher

He taught me

That the points are not the point,

The point is poetry…

I got schooled this year

By my father.

He taught me that hero’s aren’t always invincible

And that the magic

is within me..

I got schooled this year

by

a

Boy.

a boy that I’m seriously, deeply, madly, incredibly, and undeniably in love with.

And he taught me the most important thing of all…

To put the emphasis

On life.

Dan ini adalah puisi balasan dari Will untuk Lake

I met a girl in a U-Haul.

A beautiful girl

And I fell for her.

I fell hard.

Unfortunately, sometimes life gets in the way.

Life definitely got in my way.

It got all up in my damn way,

Life blocked the door with a stack of wooden 2×4’s nailed together and attached to a fifteen inch concrete wall behind a row of solid steel bars, bolted to a titanium frame that no matter how hard I shoved against it-

It

wouldn’t

budge.

Sometimes life doesn’t budge.

It just gets all up in your damn way.

It blocked my plans, my dreams, my desires, my wishes, my wants, my needs.

It blocked out that beautiful girl

That I fell so hard for.

Life tries to tell you what’s best for you

What should be most important to you

What should come in first

Or second

Or third.

I tried so hard to keep it all organized, alphabetized, stacked in chronological order, everything in its perfect space, its perfect place.

I thought that’s what life wanted me to do.

This is what life needed for me to do.

Right?

Keep it all in sequence?

Sometimes, life gets in your way.

It gets all up in your damn way.

But it doesn’t get all up in your damn way because it wants you to just give up and let it take control. Life doesn’t get all up in your damn way because it just wants you to hand it all over and be carried along.

Life wants you to fight it.

Learn how to make it your own.

It wants you to grab an axe and hack through the wood.

It wants you to get a sledgehammer and break through the concrete.

It wants you to grab a torch and burn through the metal and steel until you can reach through and grab it.

Life wants you to grab all the organized, the alphabetized, the chronological, the sequenced. It wants you to mix it all together,

stir it up,

blend it.

Life doesn’t want you to let it tell you that your little brother should be the only thing that comes first.

Life doesn’t want you to let it tell you that your career and your education should be the only thing that comes in second.

And life definitely doesn’t want me

To just let it tell me

that the girl I met,

The beautiful, strong, amazing, resilient girl

That I fell so hard for

Should only come in third.

Life knows

Life is trying to tell me

That the girl I love,

The girl I fell

So hard for?

There’s room for her in first.

I’m putting her first.

Review : Never Fade (The Darkest Minds #2) by Alexandra Bracken

It’s the second book from The Darkest Minds trilogy. Well, I can say it’s a good book altough I don’t really like how the plot that is  too slow for me. For half of the story I dozed off so many times when I read it. It’s a good thing to read how detail what the character feels from their point of view but sometimes it just too much. Too much detail makes the plot slow and makes it boring so yeah it’s good but it’s not my favorite kind of book.

Aside from the plot I like how the stroy start from Ruby when she’s working for League till she meet Liam, again. Ruby, still the girl who hate and afraid of her ability as an Orange. She’s not really changed and sadly her character stuck. So yeah she’s not one of my favorite female character. Liam, I miss the old Liam, the first book Liam. I miss how carefree and easygoing he is. I know a lot of things happened to him but I don’t know, just show us that side of him is still there. Chubs, dude I like how Chubs changed since the first book, he’s still smart but now he’s more mature and can control himself. The new addition character Vidia and Jude aren’t bad either. I like them just fine. But I miss Zu, like seriously how cute her character. I know we have a new little character Jude but he’s different from Zu. I prefer Zu than Jude, I mean her character is more natural than Jude that I think too cildish for his own good. Clancy, still the freak dude that I hate. I don’t know but I have this feeling  from him that reminds me of Warner from Shatter Me trilogy. Clancy and Warner have the same mood and mysterious character that creep me out.

So yeah, I know that I give 4 stars for The Darkest Minds but for this one, Never Fade sorry but I have to give this book 3 stars.

Review : Into the Still Blue (Under the Never Sky #3) by Veronica Rossi

StillBlue_jkt-c-660x1024

What a great way to end the Under the Never Sky trilogy. I love how this book is all about sacrifice, start from Perry to Cinder’s sacrifice. And the most I love from this trilogy is how all the caharacters growing up on their feels and their character.

First from Perry, in the first book we can see a boy that wanted to be a Blood Lord learn how to make an agreement with a Dweller girl. In this book Perry still just a naiive boy and he never expected himself to fall for the Dweller girl. Perry grown in the second book after he finally killed his brother and became Blood Lord in this second book he started to adapt to his new life we can see how he made a mistake by trusting Kirra and how he made a good decision to relocate the Tides to a cave because of the Aether Storm. And in the third book we can see all the sacrifices he had to made. How he had to survive when Sable tortured him and how he sacrified his life for his tribe so they got a chance to find the Still Blue.

Aria. Her life is seriously changed since the night she went to Ag 6 with Sorren. Yes in the first book sometimes she still act as a dumb Dweller girl but I can accept that because she’s all new into the outside. I mean all her life she spent it in Reverie, and suddenly she had to life in the outside with Aether Storm always threat her to death. Her ability as an Aud is amazing. She learn what, like 1 year and then BOOM she’s an awesome Aud. I just love how her character become mature since the first book till Into the Still Blue.

Roar. Damn! He’s my favorite character in this Under the Never Sky trilogy. Yes I said that my favorite character in the first book is Perry but in after read the second and third book I fall for Roar. He’s not perfect yes, He just a boy or a man or a manboy lol. I love how he came up after what happened to Liv. He didn’t let his broken heart lead his life. He had his grief for Liv but aftre that he started become himself again, he started to help Perry and Aria again.

After all I give this book 4 stars.
